How to Buy an RV
We've taken our 30 years of RV selling experience and compiled them into a list of things you should do when purchasing an RV.
To start, the first things first, which RV is for you?
There are 8 types of RV's from which to choose from:
- 3 Types of Motor homes: Class A, Class B, and Class C.
- Types of Trailesr - travel trailesr, travel trailer coach, fifth wheels, telescoping trailer, and fold-down tent trailer.
- 1 Typ eof Slid-in Truck Camper.
Just from these three things - structure, livability, saftey, you can begin to appreciate the importance of choosing and RV according to your personal needs.
Before you select a type, you shoudl think about size. Once you have determined your size you are ready to start looking for an RV or Camper Trailer.
Here are the top 10 things to keep in mind when purchasing a new or used RV:
1. Prepare to choose in the correct order.
2. Have 5 test questions ready for your rv salesperson
3. Visit at least 5 RV dealerships
4. Don't trust the salesperson until he/she earns it.
5. Expect a good presentation of each RV shown
6. Go for the quality. Don't settle for an RV that needs maintenance.
7. Choose two dealerships for new RV's and five for Used RV's
8. Have your facts on paper
9. Be prepared to walk away.
10. Prepare for back-end pressure.
